January 8, 2008 journal, impeachment urged by George McGovern former presidential candidate. He is right in his accusations against wicked George Bush and Dick Cheney. George McGovern, the Democratic Party's 1972 nominee for president, is calling on Congress to impeach President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney. (not a chance) And in an editorial in Sunday's Washington Post McGovern writes the case for impeaching the current president is "far stronger" than the case made against former President Richard Nixon - the man who soundly defeated McGovern in the general election match up. "Bush and Cheney are clearly guilty of numerous impeachable offenses," McGovern writes. "They have repeatedly violated the Constitution. They have transgressed national and international law. They have lied to the American people time after time. "Their conduct and their barbaric policies have reduced our beloved country to a historic low in the eyes of people around the world," he continued. McGovern, a former three-term senator who ran for president on a fiercely anti-war platform, also called the administration's policy in Iraq a "a murderous, illegal, nonsensical war" in violation of international law. "This reckless disregard for life and property, as well as constitutional law, has been accompanied by the abuse of prisoners, including systematic torture, in direct violation of the Geneva Conventions of 1949," he added. But McGovern acknowledged there is little bipartisan support for an impeachment effort, blaming "superficial partisanship" among Republicans, and a "a lack of courage and statesmanship on the part of too many Democratic politicians." Ron Paul billboard sign stated secure our borders and now that's being used against him saying he's for bigger government. When I saw that in Tennessee I knew it was negative because on the one hand we are taking up the borders the same people are better crying secure the borders. The North American Union will eliminate the borders and maybe its good. the Republican nomination is not so up and is very shaky and insecure. Huckabee will probably be their candidate but the Obama campaign is still rising and looks like a winner for the Democrats. Pat Roberson is unfortunately not being completely truthful in saying the Democrats are trying to raise taxes when it is only on the rich-like him. He does h-a-t-es Democrats. 45 percent of voters in New Hampshire are said independent. Ron Paul is the only person running that is speaking the truth and I wish he had not gotten on the immigration issue but still has the truth overall and may come front and center it is over. Ron Paul is not all for bigger government. This government is coming down one way or the other either voluntarily or it will collapse under its own weight & be no more. Ron Paul supporters nearly a riot over Ruford Murdoch's Fox News refusal to allow Paul and their debate in New Hampshire.
