October 29,
2002 journal, dare not call it art, ambassador to Jordan ambushed, theater
in Moscow gassed with
many dead. World turmoil confirms apocalyptic age in Armageddon. This must be
why I paint art / write journal. The
opening last evening at North Greenville College last evening was a wonderful
experience with great student participation and with many wonderful supporting
friends. I can now say the things that I
should have said when I was introduced by my good friend art director Jim Craft
at this 1400 student college in Northern Greenville County. The show was with a great selection of their
choice from my available art featuring the Beast of Revelation, some modified
to reveal our modern times.
I was very happy that my brother James came to this event. I appreciate my family and my brother is very
special to me as a real brother unconditionally. Our father was a man that spoke his mind and he
was well respected for it. I paint what is on my mind and I write my thoughts
in my daily journal and make it a devotional with prayer and scripture. Art to me has always been considered luxury,
especially growing up on a dairy farm and never being exposed to original
artwork. Not until in July 1989 did I
ever dream of painting any art.
I saw a vision suddenly and within it was a command to paint
apocalyptic art of the end-time prophecy message of the Book of Revelation and
the entire Biblical prophecies that we see coming to pass with the world under
attack by the Islamic religious movement.
There is little doubt in my mind that we are seeing the beginning of the
end of this day of God's grace and the pouring out of the 21 judgments
described in the Book of Revelation.
There is little doubt that the killing of our ambassador in
friendly Amman Jordan and the capture
of hostages in the theater in Russian was part of the United Moslem hostility
to capture the World and destroy Christianity.
From left to right, the painting of the beast
substituting politicians faces on the seven heads
call ‘faces of the beast was highlighted’.
The big mouth of Sodom Hussain 5 ft.
tall is again appropriate as part of my series painted during the Gulf
War. The painting of collapsing towers I
did in 1996, acrylic on canvas 36 by 48 drew lots of attention with its people
falling out on the way down as my prediction of Wall Street and a collapsing
stock market. To scenes from the Revelation
series of the seven headed beast were included in this show that are bound for
the three-year traveling show at the University of Memphis. At the end was two
paintings on health. 1- I want my teeth
back 'sugar baby' showing a Coke and Pepsi cans . 2-Don't
be a turkey and eat the five killer whites in our diet-sugar, flour, meat, milk
and processed table salt. I feel I have
a responsibility for people's health as well as their soul in the progress of
reality and eternal life. I was proud to
have Dr. Jim Mann,jr. Ph.D. formally curator of the
Las Vegas Art Museum in the audience to speak and describe my work for whatever
he has seen in it for these years and having shown it in 1998 as a major
one-man show in the LVAM. I was also proud to have my good artist friend Don
Mize attending. I first met Don when he
was on the board directors at the Las Vegas Art Museum in Las Vegas Nevada during my show
there. I am proud for all the applause but I feel that I have just begun and
that I have no talent of my own. Universities and museums have been my outlet
even though I would have preferred the church show my work. The collaborative painting 'Idolatry' was
shown in print form with description because it is so complicated. The print is 4 ft. tall while the regional is
9 1/2 ft. tall. This is a takeoff of the
Revelation scene of the woman Israel standing on the
moon clothed in the sun with the crown of 12 stars on her head which we changed
to seven churches to illustrate the idolatry that has plagued the churches
since Babylonian days when the mother and child were featured as idols to be
worshipped.
