February 14, 2008 journal, The Valentine rush should cure the economic depression of the country but nothing will bring back an economy that is drained by job losses and the war recession with the dollar falling and inflation rising. Giant valentine cards now cost only 1.50 printed in China. A drive out Wade Hampton Boulevard I see half the stores closed growing weeds in their yards, this should be called the chocolate day or the sugar day. Next year valentines will be much different without the Dixie Crystal Sugar factory. Last week's explosion and fire in the factory near Savannah destroyed the world's largest sugar maker and they said it started or was caused by sugar dust but if that were true it would have burn down a hundred years ago because sugar dust has been there all of the time. It may remain one of those mysteries that happens and in this case I guess it could have been caused by the commercial market determined to impose artificial sweeteners on the general public. I consider artificial sweeteners poison to the system. Just ask Don Rumsfeld of Monsanto who railroaded NutraSweet through the FDA on to the people. Spinda in my opinion is even worse. I had a friend who switched to Splenda and within days he was seeing double. He went off Splinda and his problem cleared up within days. There are serious health problems on in our commercial food chain and most is a secret. The truth is the mortgage crisis is many times worse than we have been told about and it is a global problem. America fuels the economy of the entire commercial world with the truth now coming out. There will be more giveaways in a futile attempt to revive this economy. Everyone gets a big valentine present this year from your loving government. Where are the cupids? Saint Valentine is a creation of the Catholic Church like Easter. The more I see of its commercialization makes me wonder if it was created for business. The daily shooting today was at the North Illinois University west of Chicago. If that is unclear I mean to say, we have a shooting almost every day somewhere in this country. The shooter shot more than a dozen people then he politely killed himself in the snow. The Republicans in the House walked out today in protest of the Democrats not passing the eavesdropping bill for the president. I thought it was already passed but apparently only by the House of Representatives which are largely suckers from both sides of aisle. I think all those Republicans that walked out should just keep walking never to return. The people of this country are sick and tired of hearing the president's fear rhetoric. I heard the most blistering rebuke of the president tonight on MSNBC calling him a liar. His guest also said it has been a horrible 8 years wherein this country has gone down. Ben Bernanke head of the Federal Reserve said today that we are facing a recession. He would only say that if he cannot control business & it is all falling out from beneath them. Stock market was down again being that great gambling casino of Wall Street. I think that not only the people have enough but I think 'God' has had enough of this. The Times Examiner today has a number articles against John McCain and rightly so. They say he collaborated with the enemy while he was in the Vietnam prison in Hanoi. They say he cheated on his wife and eventually divorced and remarried. They say he finished 884 out of his class of 889 students in Navy Cadet Training, he has a temper. Another article suggest that Ron Paul break away from the Republican Party that has treated him so unfairly and because e should be a nominee for the Constitutional Party. I approve that message. A letter to the Editor describes perfectly and briefly how the Civil War started by taxation of Southern cotton exports. Abraham Lincoln in 1860 barricaded the South after South Carolina succeeded from the union and six others.
