September 09, 2012 journal, I am Christian first not politically Democrat or Republican. The middle-class are the people that are supporting the system without asking questions. I see the homeless people every day and unemployed that's dropped off the society roles. The Greenville News Building no longer belongs to the Greenville News even though the Hirsch media conglomerate own it as do they local NBC affiliate television broadcast Co. All television networks are taking advantage of their listeners time by airing commercials in every break so many until it is ridiculous. I counted 17 commercials in one TV break. There needs to be a limit on TV torture from repetitive commercials that drill your brains. One report of a Fox News station that ran television commercials for 45 minutes straight. I believe ridiculous Toyota and all car ads are government financed the same as the Post Office brain deadening ads. What does $50 million per political convention paid expense tell you about how they are using taxpayer money to finance foolish political conventions. Anderson County is baiting large industry with public money to locate there to hire their people, even though, it is a fact that buying in industry could cost $200,000. dollars per employee. Priming industry is foolishness and a waste of the taxpayer's painful money. The government should not be giving $50 million to each political party for a convention. The airport security invasive procedures are coming to light and should embarrass USA. "Sexually abused by a government official" Paul Joseph Watson Thursday, September 6, 2012 "Hundreds of letters of complaint about the TSA's invasive security procedures released this week under the Freedom of Information Act include numerous horror stories about TSA screeners directly touching people's genitals during pat downs. Following aFOIA request in 2010, the non-profit website has released the files after a two year battle with the TSA to make them public. The letters can be viewed here. The letters confirm what we first reported back in 2010, that the TSA's new security procedures for "advanced pat downs" include literally touching and in some cases groping the genitals of travelers. In one incident which occurred on October 29, 2010 at Hobby Airport, Houston, a woman reveals how a TSA screener "putting her hand on my vagina," caused the woman to "have traumatic reaction that lasted for days." In another letter, a woman complains to Congressman Mike Turner about an incident that happened on November 12, 2010 at Dayton International AIrport. The woman explains how a TSA screener, "felt my inner thighs and my vagina area, touching both of my labia." The woman relates how she stood for a minute holding her baby without being able to move having been "sexually assaulted by a government official." "I began shaking and felt completely violated, abused and assaulted by the TSA agent. I shook for several hours and woke up the next day shaking," she writes. Another woman traveling through LAX on November 10, 2010 complains of how she was "sexually assaulted" after a TSA screener touched her vagina. The files are also replete which cases of TSA screeners fondling men's genitals. A veteran of the 10th Special Forces from Bradenton, Florida, who had metal parts in his body as a result of combat injuries reveals how he was subjected to an aggressive pat down "so rough he injured my testicles and (I) was nauseated for hours." In another incident which occurred at Phoenix airport, a man with an enlarged prostate reveals how a TSA screener used a metal detecting wand to poke "my penis and my testicles very hard," despite the fact that the man warned the TSA screener in advance that he suffered pain in his genitals." China's largest river turns red is blood after a series of perfect earthquakes in southwest. "Chinese officials are puzzled as to why the Yangtze River has suddenly turned red. The river, which is the third longest in the world, reportedly began to take on its blood-like tinge on Friday near Chongquing; a city near where the Yangtze and the Jialin River merge. There has been much speculation about what caused to river to turn red. Since Chongquing has a large industrial presence, chemical contamination has been named as a possible suspect. The phenomenon known as "red tide" was also considered but experts have ruled out that possibility. "When water turns red, the thing a lot of people think of first is red tide. But the algae that causes red tide is a marine group and not a freshwater group, so it's highly, highly unlikely that this is a red-tide-related phenomenon," according to Emily Stanley, a professor of limnology (the study of inland waters) at the University of Wisconsin, in an interview with LiveScience. Stanley goes on to explain that occasionally fresh water does take on a reddish color due oxygen deficiencies that promote the growth of color-producing bacteria. Stanley said however, that the conditions present in most rivers rarely allow for such an occurrence. After seeing images of the river, Stanley believes that the source is likely pollutant-related. Meanwhile, the river has become somewhat of an oddity among the local people with some reportedly putting the water in bottles, while fisherman continue to fish in the crimson-colored waters. This event occurs in the wake of a series of earthquakes that rocked parts of China as well, on Friday. The quakes struck southwestern portions of the country which is also the same region where the Yangtze began turning red. These quakes have reportedly killed at least 64 people, destroyed more than 30,000 homes and caused major landslides in several areas. There has been no word from officials on whether they suspect that the Yangtze turning red is related to the quakes at this time. The incident is currently under investigation." So for this is unreported by any major TV network. Joan Walsh: "I write in the book about a long history of "educated" elite reformers approaching the white poor and working class-particularly my people, Irish Catholics - as dirty, backwards people, and often seeming more interested in the rights of minorities and women, not those white workers, who we can sometimes act like they created and deserve their fate. So I'm not always sure that "we" college educated progressives do deal well with the white working class. Mark Karlin: Which brings us to the issue of race. I just read an opinion piece that Romney will need 61% of the white vote to win, given a turnout of non-whites somewhere below 2008 but above 2010. To what extent do many white middle, blue collar and elderly whites vote Republican because of their perception - egged on by GOP campaigns - that the Democrats represent giveaways to minorities. I am thinking, particularly of the poor whites in Appalachia who vote Republican year after year. I recall reading a Washington Post article about a dirt poor rural white county in Kentucky, where I think darn near everyone received some sort of government aid. The county would literally die without the federal government. Yet, the residents voted overwhelmingly Republican-Lisa and Me: Birthdays and Republican-Style Medicare-Dina Rasor, Truthout: "So many of us have had to struggle through lifelong insurance discrimination and high costs while living with terror and guilt that if we lose our jobs we could bankrupt our family. We are limping towards age 65 and Medicare: Don't make us live that terror into old age."
